Battle Assault 3 is a 3D battle game fought on a large scale battlefield, as opposed to 2D gameplay of the previous game. In this way, the character can move freely around the battlefield. Instead of going to a third round, players have a big health bar that depends on the type of suit. The basic mass production suits have a single health bar that can be harmed by all weapons. The Gundam type has two half bars, one for phase shift and the other for normal. Despite the slow passing, you need to break the phase shift before you can handle the base armor. Because the end series Gundam has a complete phase shift, weaker units have much more time to break through. Due to a balanced problem with most mobile suits equipped with beam weapons, phase shift resists beam shots.

If one of the speeds is fast, you can press the Select button to start a button press sequence called real-time programming that improves the remote and proximity features of the mobile suit. Beyond this threshold, players can improve the machine's energy gauge and restore health in this way.
