Baroque (Baroque Barokku) is a role playing video game developed by Sting Entertainment which was released on September 21, 1998 by Sega Saturn in Japan. It was transplanted for PlayStation on October 28, 1999. The remake version is for PlayStation 2 and Wii and was released on June 28 and March 13, 2008. Atlas released the game in North America and announced that it will be released for PlayStation 2 and Wii in the United States on March 18, 2008. Atlas USA finally released both versions on April 8, 2008. On December 28, 2012, Stin released for the Apple iOS platform. PS 2 released on Europe on July 18, 2008 and Wii on August 22, 2008.The aim of Baroque is to guide characters with unnamed memory loss to the lowest point through Neuro Tower. The randomly generated, most of the neuro tower floor layout changes every time a player adventures the interior. The portal on each floor of the tower will move the player to the next floor. Baroque games will not be on-screen games, but proceed forward and cancel cut scenes, new areas and comments by non-player characters. The neuro tower is expanded after certain conditions are met.
The player character starts the game outside the neuro tower without items or experience values. Prior to entering the neuro tower, players have an angelic rifle. Angelic rifle is a special weapon that destroys a monster. However, the rifle has 5 ammo. Players can randomly find items, swords and equipment scattered around the tower, and defeat enemies. Given the experience value of the player, the player character raises the level and becomes more powerful. At the end of the dungeon, the player is returned to the starting point outside the tower, all items including those equipped and all scores are lost. Throwing items into a sphere of consciousness, players can increase the number of non-player characters by one next play-through. You can save up to 5 items in this way at startup, but you can increase the number if certain conditions are met.
The game uses two gauges to measure the hero's health status: hit points and vitality. The vitality gauge will always be depleted during game play. When it becomes empty, the hit point gauge starts to be exhausted. Both gauges can be supplemented by eating various forms of meat and heart and restoring hit points and vitality. If the body or the heart is exhausted while the related physical strength is being maximally satisfied, the maximum hit point / vitality of the main character increases by a certain amount.
